Professional Background Overview

Lahore University of Management Sciences

January 2020 - Present

Currently managing projects that align with my professional skills and interests.

As a research assistant at LUMS from August to November 2024, I collaborated closely with Professors Ali Khan and Ali Nobil Ahmad on a project titled "The Rise and Fall of Sports in Pakistan." My primary responsibility involved conducting an extensive literature review, where I gathered secondary information from a variety of sources, including academic journals as well as non-academic materials like newspapers and magazines. This thorough analysis aimed to unveil the historical context of sports in Pakistan, tracing its evolution and understanding the factors that contributed to its rise and subsequent decline. The research not only deepened my knowledge of the subject but also honed my analytical skills as I worked to weave together diverse narratives from the rich tapestry of Pakistan's sporting history.

Project Highlights

Radio Pakistan Intern

June 2018 - 2020

In May 2024, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Punjab Police Special Branch Archives under the supervision of Dr. Ali Usman Qasmi. During this 15-day engagement, I played a key role in establishing a library by meticulously identifying and sorting archival materials from non-archival items. My primary responsibility was to develop a descriptive catalog of the archival materials, which aimed to enhance accessibility for researchers and facilitate future scholarly work. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights into archival management and contributed to the preservation of historically significant records.

Research Associate

From July to September 2023, I served as a Research Associate for the British Academy's project on Constitution Making in Early Pakistan, working under the guidance of Professor Dr. Yaqoob Khan Bangash, renowned author of A Princely Affair: The Accession and Integration of the Princely States of Pakistan (1947-1955). Over the course of 360 hours, I conducted extensive data collection and analysis of both English and Urdu newspapers to examine the constitution-making process during the first decade of Pakistan. This role allowed me to engage deeply with primary sources and gain critical insights into the political and historical dynamics of early Pakistan.

From July to September 2023, I worked as an Intern at the Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP) as part of their Oral History Project. During this 144-hour engagement, I contributed to the organization's mission of preserving cultural and historical narratives from Sindh and Punjab, with a broader impact across Pakistan. My role involved conducting interviews, making detailed notes, visiting historical sites, and attending workshops to enhance my skills in oral interviewing, research methodologies, and archival practices. This experience allowed me to engage directly with the lived experiences of individuals and deepen my understanding of Pakistan's rich history and heritage.

Oral History Project Intern

From July to October 2024, I worked as an Intern at Radio Pakistan, Lahore, dedicating 240 hours to the Music Production Unit. My role involved conducting interviews with musicians, assisting in organizing musical events, and gaining hands-on experience in music production at the radio station. This experience allowed me to engage closely with Pakistan's vibrant music scene, understand the technical aspects of audio production, and contribute to the preservation and promotion of traditional and contemporary music.
